Combine Data Tab:

The Combine Data tab is used to combine data sets.  To combine several data sets, select the appropriate run numbers to be added in the +RunNums box, choose the appropriate +xColumn and +yColumn and the click on the Add to + list button.  This will add this scan with the appropriate X and Y columns to the + Array.  The same procedure can be followed in the "-" section to add scans to be subtracted. Once the appropriate scans are selected to be added and subtracted, a desciptor for the combined data set is typed into the Description box.  The normalization for the combined data is specified by selecting the appropriate input channel from the pull down menu (showing Time in the image below) and the numerical normalization constant is typed in the box above this menu (showing 1 in the image below).  NOTE that if the normalization constant is not reasonable (for instance if you counted to 1000000 monitor counts and use a monitor normalization of 1) the resulting numerical data may not appear correctly on the plot.  The Bin Tolerance for the addition and subtraction can be changed and the top-most pull down menu can be used to select a buffer to use - select Next from the list to add the combined data as the next available buffer.  Finally click on the Combine and Save to buffer button to complete the generation of the combined data set.

To plot a combined data set, go to the Graph Data tab and click on the top blue button to ensure that Graphing Data Buffers is selected (as opposed to Graphing Data Sets (any column) ).  You can then select the data buffer to be plotted from the pull down menu (labelled Combined Ni powder data in the image below).  The data can be plotted as a New Plot or overplot on top of existing plots by choosing either New Plot or Overplot from the pull down menu.  Clicking on the Graph Data button will graph the combined data set.  This data can be fit and hard copies can be generated as described in the Graph Data help document.
