Spectrometer Instrument Control Environment

preset:

The preset command is used to set the default preset for counts and scans.

The syntax for the preset command is:

     preset channel value

OR

     preset countfile path

Where one can individually specify any of the arguments.  For instance, "preset monitor" followed by "preset 234" is identical to "preset monitor 234".  The same is true for countfile path - i.e. "preset countfile" followed by "preset path" is identical to "preset countfile path".  For additional information about the use of countfiles, see the How to use countfiles guide.

The preset command can also be accessed from the GUI by selecting the Count Preset tab from the Drive/Scan/Count top-level tab.  To set the default preset, the green button at the bottom of the tab must be changed from "Monitoring ... Click to allow changes" to "Changing ... click to monitor". Then highlight the green button on the right corresponding to the channel which you would like to set as the preset channel, type in the appropriate preset value, and click on the blue "Set Default Preset" button.
